Strathearn Eventing - Horse Keep & Schooling

Horse Keep & Schooling

Horses and ponies can be taken for schooling or long/short term keep where one to one care is provided whether aiming for competition or just pure enjoyment.  In the top yard there are fifteen stables split between two stable blocks centred around the tack room and an all weather floodlit (40x40m) arena and seven stables in a modern barn.  The boxes are all generously proportioned ranging in sizes from 10x10m to 12x14m with rubber matting.  There are approximately over 30 acres of paddocks surrounding the yard with a high proportion of post and rail fencing.

We cater for all with some horses on shavings, others on straw and some on wood pellets to suit the horses specific requirements.

Sarah has a wealth of experience in the equine field and practical knowledge of coaching and schooling horses/ponies at all levels in cross country, showjumping and dressage.  Hazel England (Sarahs’ mother) has a lifetimes experience in producing horses and ponies, a thorough knowledge of breeding lines and an exceptional eye for horse correctness and conformation coupled with a practical understanding of good equine husbandry and nursing horses after injury and illness.  We believe that Sarah and Hazel’s knowledge and experience is probably the single most important part of keeping your horse at Strathearn Eventing.

Horses  are managed on an individual basis, a bespoke programme can be put together to meet the horse and riders requirements.  Horses can be exercised by Sarah and/or the team at Strathearn Eventing or clients can ride daily using the horse walker, lunge pen, all weather arena, off road hacking, cross country, showjumps and dressage arena.  We cater for schooling horses/ponies from being totally unfit and taken through to competition level fitness or post injury rehabilitation or keeping the horse ready during school term enabling children to ride at weekends or simply to improve a horses way of going.  Advice can be given on all aspects of equine care including a competition guidance programme if required and lessons, of course, can be provided to keep owners in tune with their horse.  For the non competitive person, a small family yard provides a fun atmosphere for you to enjoy your horses all year round
