This is the largest fundraising event of the year organized by the Council of Ambassadors. Our Ambassador Board of Directors is made up of lawyers and community business leaders who come together to raise awareness and fund Legal Aid Chicago. Everyone is invited to join this fun and engaging evening of much-needed fundraising to support quality pro bono civil justice services for our vulnerable community. Legal Aid Chicago hosted a 6-part webinar series titled Legal Aid Matters from May 18 to June 29, 2022. This series provided an in-depth look at Chicago`s legal issues and challenges and how our lawyers work to meet clients` needs. Each one-hour session was led by some of Chicago`s top legal aid lawyers and our community partners. Recordings of the sessions can be found under this link. Individuals received legal advice and representation to access health care and key benefits of the safety net. The Jam for Justice 2022 concert will take place on September 8 at 6pm at the House of Blues-Cleveland, 308 Euclid Ave. Single tickets cost $50. Crowd entertainment at the main event is: Funds raised through this 2022 concert series will help Legal Aid continue its work to ensure that all members of our community have access to free civil legal services in the areas of housing, education, family, health, work, money and more. Legal Aid WA`s Summer 2022 Series will take place over 3 days from Wednesday 16 February to Friday 18 February 2022 at the Duxton Hotel.

Given the current COVID-19 situation and confirmed community transmission in Western Australia, Legal Aid WA has decided that the Summer 2022 series will take place online only. More information and tickets are available online: lasclev.org/2022jam For Jam for Justice 2022, Legal Aid is offering a special $150 All Access VIP Pass, which is a donation to Legal Aid and includes admission to all three events. Single tickets cost $50 for Jam for Justice (September 8) and $25 for each Jam Session event (August 24-31). The registration deadline is Friday, February 11, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. (MST). In the run-up to it, two jam sessions were also held in the neighborhood: an East Side jam session at the BottleHouse brewery on Wednesday 24. August, with Luke Lindberg & The Hung Jury and Razing the Bar of Case Western Reserve University School of Law; and a West Side Jam session at the Brothers Lounge on Wednesday, August 31, featuring The No Name Band and Out of Order. Both neighborhood traffic jams were moderated by Stephanie Haney, digital presenter and legal analyst at WKYC. Thanks from BayLegal go to Napa County Women Lawyers (NCWL) for launching an online fundraising site in support of Bay Area Legal Aid today. For many years, NCWL and its members have provided community partnerships, volunteer support, advocacy, and fundraising support for legal services in Napa County, initially in partnership with Legal Aid of Napa.

Legal Aid Chicago`s biggest event is our annual luncheon. The 2022 luncheon took place on June 14 at 11:30 am at Palmer House. This event brought together more than 600 people working in the fields of legal and social justice to celebrate the dedication and expertise of our supporters. There`s nothing like a big summer concert — and this year, the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland`s annual summer fundraiser returns with a new format with three ways to rock with local bands led by local lawyers, judges, and law students. Congratulations to Andrea Crider, BayLegal`s Senior Counsel, and her clients who just received $48,000 in road debt relief from BayLegal`s representation in the Contra Costa County Homeless Court. Andrea reports that during extensive argument in the Homeless Court and the Traffic Court, this is the largest amount of debt she has incurred. Each day focuses on a different area of law and offers the opportunity to earn continuing education credits in the four areas of expertise: Practice Management, Professional Competencies, Professional Ethics and Responsibility, and Substantive Law.
