Government Gazette Legal Notices Deceased Estates August 2021

The publication of a notice of succession shows that sufficient efforts have been made to locate creditors before distributing an estate to its beneficiaries (the persons who will inherit the estate). This protects the executor from personal liability for funds owed to unidentified creditors. You can also submit your ad to a newspaper through The Gazette. We offer a simple flat rate to advertise in a local newspaper of the deceased. You will receive a PDF copy of the announcement. You can also purchase a PDF or a printed copy of your message if needed. Once the notice of succession is issued, creditors have 2 months and 1 day to file a claim against the estate. For more information, see the Guidelines and Terms and Conditions for Submitting Notices.
